Delete your account
You can delete your BigBro account at any time. You do not need a reason, and you do not need to contact us first. This page explains how to do it, what gets removed, and what we are required to keep.
If you have the app
iOS and Android: Settings → Account → Delete account.
Web: open your account settings while signed in.
You will be offered two options:
- Schedule deletion — your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days. You can cancel at any point during those 30 days by signing in again.
- Delete everything now — deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone.
If you no longer have the app
Email privacy@bigbro.menfrom the address on your account and ask us to delete it. You do not need to reinstall anything. We may need to confirm you control the address before acting, so that nobody can delete someone else's account.
We answer erasure requests within one month, as required by Art. 12(3) GDPR.
What deletion removes
Your profile and its photos, your location, your interests and tags, your events and event memberships, your private albums and the access you granted to them, your favourites, likes and matches, and your device push tokens.
What is kept, and for how long
Some data cannot be removed at once. These limits come from Section 8 of our Privacy Policy:
- After the 30-day grace period your account is pseudonymised — identifying fields are cleared and your handle is replaced, so the record can no longer be linked to you.
- Limited identity and moderation-strike data may be kept for up to 24 months, to stop a banned account returning under a new name.
- Content connected to a child-safety report is preserved for up to 180 days regardless of deletion, to meet our reporting obligations.
- Messages you sent to other peoplestay in the recipient's copy of the conversation until they delete it — the same way an email you have sent stays in the other person's inbox. Deleting a conversation permanently, or blocking someone, hard-deletes that conversation and its media for both sides immediately.
Getting a copy first
If you want your data before deleting, request an export from the app (Settings → Account) or email privacy@bigbro.men. Deletion is irreversible once the grace period ends, so export first if in doubt.
